I usually meet with clients once per week. However, I have a good number of folks that I see biweekly or once per month, as we are winding down our work together. The frequency of how often we meet is based upon your unique needs and schedule.

I am earned my PhD in clinical psychologist with a concentration in child/adolescent mental health. This means I work with clients as young as 4 years old through adulthood. While there is no “hard cut off” regarding age, I am not trained in geriatric (or “older adult”) psychology.

There are many great psychologists out there, and finding the right fit for you is imperative. (A lot of my research as a doctoral student focused on the therapeutic relationship or “alliance”—it’s super important!)
My style is not super “buttoned up”. I frequently use humor in my work and strive to create a safe and comfortable atmosphere for my clients. I don’t typically use a bunch of jargon (unless we’re very curious and want to be extra scientific), and I always try my very best to meet you where you are. We learn and grow most when we feel safe to do so, and I am dedicated to facilitating that environment in my office. While I use evidence-based strategies, I work very hard to tailor them to exactly what you need. -
My typical therapy session is 50 mins. This usually looks like 50 mins of therapy and a few mins of scheduling at the end. I do offer longer sessions upon request.

Not every client needs an assessment before beginning therapy. Assessments are highly formal and structured evaluations meant to clarify somewhat murky diagnostic pictures. For example, if you’ve been in therapy for a long time and haven’t seen any progress. It may be time for an assessment to get a clear path forward and make sure nothing is being missed. Assessments are also super helpful in determining whether or not you or your child have autism or ADHD.
Oftentimes assessments lead to therapy afterwards, but not always.
